The 2023 SCORE San Felipe 250 saw Alumicraft racers pushing their vehicles to the limit. This grueling high-speed sprint race, which began and ended on the Malecon by the Sea of Cortez, is the first event of the SCORE-International season. With hopes of getting a good start for the Baja 500, racers competed fiercely in the 36th edition of the race.
The Class 10 division was ultra-competitive with 19 entries, and Justin Buckley of the #1064 Alumicraft buggy emerged victorious after completing the 282.51-mile course in 5 hours, 50 minutes, and 17 seconds, beating the second-place finisher by nearly six and a half minutes. With only 12 finishers out of 19 entries, the Class 10 division was a tough competition.
Buckley, a 32-year-old from Long Beach, California, expressed his joy at the victory, stating that the race was rough, soft, sandy, hot, and technical. He also praised his navigator, Luke Knupp, who provided him with the necessary notes to navigate through the 100 miles of the race course that he had never seen before.
Alumicraft racers also dominated the podium with Cesar Cuevas of the #1011, Francisco Vera of the #1091, and Carlos Guillen of the #1020 finishing in 3rd, 4th, and 5th place respectively.
Alumicraft congratulates Justin Buckley for his win and commends all the racers who competed in the challenging off-road race. Alumicraft takes pride in producing high-performance machines that can withstand the harsh Baja terrain.
